PSA – Public Service Announcements

Do You have an Upcoming Event that you Need to Publicize?

Radio Free Moscow can help. In addition to Moscow and Pullman, KRFP Radio, 90.3FM, reaches community members from Deary and Plummer to Colfax and beyond. We read or play local community public service announcements (“PSAs”) multiple times throughout the day – for free. We can help you be heard.

In fact, the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) requires that radio and television stations donate a certain portion of their time for public service and community announcements. You can take advantage of this opportunity by sending KRFP a PSA that announces your organization’s events.

What do you need to do?

Write a PSA script and mail it to us at the address below or email it to us at info@krfp.org.  KRFP DJs will read it over the air at least once a day, at no cost to you.

How?

A PSA is similar to a press release, but with one very important difference: It is written to be read aloud, word for word, over the radio. So, keep your language simple and your sentences short.

A PSA must contain the five Ws (Who? What? When? Where? Why?), but it must do so in a very concise way, literally in just a couple of sentences. It must be able to be read in 10-60 seconds.

PSA scripts should be typed double-spaced and in capital letters on a separate sheet of paper.

If your event includes LIVE MUSIC it can also be included in our GIG LIST CALENDAR which is read on the air throughout the day.

ONE OF THE MOST IMPORTANT ACTIVITIES TO SHARE WITH YOUR BABY IS READING. THAT’S WHY THE BROWN COUNTY PUBLIC LIBRARY IS OFFERING THE “BORN TO READ” PROGRAM FOR TEEN PARENTS. TUTORS PROVIDE COACHING, A VIDEO OFFERS TIPS, AND LIBRARIANS DISTRIBUTE BOOKS AND OTHER MATERIALS. THE PROGRAM IS MADE POSSIBLE THROUGH A GRANT FROM THE FEDERAL INSTITUTE OF MUSEUM AND LIBRARY SERVICES.
