Winter is finally starting to wane and the days are getting longer!
The City of Moscow and the Moscow Arts Commission are getting ready for Farmers Market and Art Walk.
Craft Jury for Farmer Market vendors will take place Saturday March 24th from 9:30 to noon at the Moscow City Hall. Space at the market is limited to 40 spots so get your application in now, deadline is March 21st.
Musicians are wanted to perform on Saturday mornings in Friendship Square at the Market.
Farmers Market will open May 5th and run through October 27th.
Moscow Art Walk will happen June 15th and the search is on for work by a local artist who has participated in previous art walks for the cover of the Art Walk Brochure. The selected artist will be awarded $500.
Deadline for artist submission is April 27th. Applications may be downloaded at the city’s website, , or picked up at the Arts Department in Moscow City Hall, or at the Moscow Chamber of Commerce
The first annual Moscow Artwalk orientation event will take place on Thursday, March 29th at Moscow City Hall from noon to 1:00pm. This orientation is for local businesses that want to participate in ArtWalk, and offers the perfect opportunity to explore strategies and have your questions answered.

This Saturday night March 10th Gefilte Trout will play Eastern European folk music at the Dahmen Barn in Uniontown Washington at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $7 at the door. Gefilte Trout will appeal to those who would like to hear Eastern European music for the first time, and for those who yearn to hear this music again. The 6 piece band plays Jewish klezmer and music in Ladino the language of the Jewish people of Spain, as well as Russian, and Ukranian folk songs. Bill Voxman, clarinet, Bill Thomson on mandolin, Bill Thompson on guitar, Greg Donohoe on upright bass and Mary Donohoe vocals and percussion, Carla Chandler on fiddle.
Auditorium Chamber Music Series presents Wind Soloists of New York on Tuesday, March 20, 7:30 – 9:30p.m. at University of Idaho Administration Auditorium.Tickets are available at Prichard Art Gallery in downtown Moscow or online at: www.auditoriumchambermusic.org
The tenth annual Sapatq’ayn Cinema is set for March 22 -24th at the Kenworthy Perfoming Arts Center in Downtown Moscow. Sponsored by the University of Idaho American Inidan Studies program this year’s festival features diverse genres, including documentary, short feature and full-length films.
