Planned Parenthood Votes Northwest is hosting phone banks to educate Idahoans about current legislation concerning women’s reproductive rights and health issues..

If you can donate an evening of your time once or twice a month contact Jennifer Whitney Field Organizer for Planned Parenthood Votes Northwest at 509-241-4301 or go to ppvotesnw.org. Volunteers are needed for phone banks on March 19th and 27th from 4 to 7 p.m.

The Moscow League of Women Voters will meet Wednesday March 21st at noon in the Fiske Room of the 1912 Center to hear Gritman Medical Center’s CEO Kara Bestt discuss the effects of health care reform on our local hospital and give an update on the Gritman Wellness Center. The public is invited to attend.

The Lewis and Clark State College Center for Arts and History is featuring

artist Youdhisthir Maharjan’s show Swayambhu through April 6th. Work by Doug Davisdon, Ludmilla Parez Saskova and Karri Dieken are also on exhibit.

Gallery hours are Tuesday through Saturday 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.. The Center for Arts and History is located at the corner of 5th and Main in downtown Lewiston. Admission is free and open to the public.

The Prichard Gallery’s current show “Uncommon Rivers” brings together a group of national and international artists whose works explore the concept of rivers from a variety of perspectives. The gallery is located in downtown Moscow and is open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday and Sundays 10 a.m. to 6 p.m

Palouse Women Artists meet the third Sunday of the month at Smokey Mountain Pizza at the Palouse Mall. Social hour at 4 pm and meeting at 5 pm.

Palouse Women Artists invite women of all ages and backgrounds who have an interest in the arts to join them.

Join the City of Moscow Human Rights Commission for free documentary screening and social justice forum on Tuesday March 20th at 6 p.m. The film “More Than a Roof” will be shown, discussion to follow. The tenth annual Sapatq’ayn Cinema is set for March 22 -24th at the Kenworthy Perfoming Arts Center in Downtown Moscow. Sponsored by the University of Idaho American Indian Studies program this year’s festival features diverse genres, including documentary, mocu-mentary, short feature and full-length films. The 39 th Annual Moscow Renaissance Fair is requesting entries for the Annual Poster contest . Deadline is noon on March 24th.

Go to moscowrenfair.org for more information. Judging for the poster contest will be Saturday March 24th at Mikey’s Gyros on Main Street

between 2 and 4 p.m. and everyone is welcome to stop by and vote for your favorite poster.

Calling all bad poets to come together to support children’s literacy on March 29th , 6 p.m. at Mikey’s Gyros . “Beware the Odes of March” is a competition and fundraiser for “First Book” program that provides access to new books for children in need. The 64th annual University of Idaho Borah Symposium will be happening next month, April 9, 10 and 11th . This year’s event will explore “Food and War: Cultivating Peace”. The symposium is open to the public at no charge. . Keynote speakers Raj Patel, and Dr. Vandana Shiva will discuss the connections between hunger, population, sustainability and war and peace.
